the fish must be very fresh.fresh coconut preferred.please be careful
when serving this dish to little children as it is made with fish bones
and head, for the children you can prepare this dish with fresh pieces
of tuna. if you decide to use pieces of fish then a kilo is sufficent
for 6 people.
Ingredients
1kg fish bones and head and some pieces of fish(tuna or other big boned fish)
2 cups grated coconut
1 onion
2 green chillies or more if you like it extra spicy
1 inch fresh ginger
1 teaspoon tumeric powder
2 drum sticks cut into pieces
1 green mango
a few shallots,
mustard seeds
curry leaves
1 dried chilli
coconut oil
salt to taste

Directions
Put the grated
coconut,onion,greenchillies,ginger,tumeric powder in a mixer and grind
as done for a normal avial(please dont grind it to a fine paste). Add
this mixture to the cleaned and prepared fish along with the drumsticks
and diced mango and a cup or two of water, cover and cook over a medium
fire till the vegetables and the fish are cooked through. Add salt
according to your taste.
Heat oil in a frying pan, when hot add mustard seeds , curry leaves, shallots and the dried chillies, when slightly browned add this to the fish dish and mix.Enjoy!
