Marble Cake


Ingredients:

Chocolate is swirled into the vanilla batter to make this marble cake. Frost with chocolate frosting.
1 teaspoon unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 3/4 cup sifted cake flour
3 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
4 1/3 cup white butter
5 3/4 cup milk
6 1 teaspoon vanilla
7 3 egg white
8 cup sugar


Method

Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. beat butter and sugar until smooth.Add flour vanilla,milk and beat until batter is very smooth. In another bowl, beat the eggwhites until thick and foamy. Fold egg mixture thoroughly into batter. Drizzle chocolate over the batter then cut through batter several times to give a marbled appearance. Pour into a greased and floured 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 325° for 35 to 45 minutes. Cool then frost.
